Will peace return to Kandhamal?

It is heartening to know that all the Churches and humanitarian agencies are together in responding to the needs of the people . Each Church / organization has adopted a block to build simple houses for the affected families. After much negotiation, whoever does not have a patta homestead land, the government is allotting lands. A tripartite partnership among the Churches/humanitarian agencies, district administration and people is emerging to respond to the situation. Still the question remains: Will peace return at all in Kandhamal?

Orissa state government must keep security forces in the violence hit area at least for another year. Otherwise, it will repeat. A very good article.

Thanks for publishing this article. The people of goodwill all over the country may be invited to help in the rehabilitation of the suffering Christians. If possible, the Orissa Government should be forced by the Supreme Court to expedite meting out justice to the hapless population. The leaders could meet the CM of Orissa and request him to take up this issue on a priority basis.
